Sustainable Face Sponge

These Mediterranean-grown pure silk sea sponges are considered the most luxurious sponge for facial care. They are incredibly soft and dense and have the finest pores of any silk sponge. Unlike washcloths, luffas, or other materials, they don’t irritate, pull or tear the skin. They are perfect for gently exfoliating and pampering skin daily. Facial sea sponges help cleanse, rejuvenate, and contain natural minerals that are beneficial to the skin. They are suitable for all skin types, including those with sensitive and mature skin types. The sea sponges from the Mediterranean region are considered the best silk sponges in the world, prized for their silky texture, softness, and durability. These sponges are responsibly harvested and are a naturally renewable resource. Divers hand-cut them to ensure that enough of the base remains intact so that the sponge can regrow. Studies show that areas harvested increase the population density of sponges. Sponges are biodegradable, renewable resources and are not manufactured from petroleum products. They are very durable and can be used repeatedly with proper care. and can be added to the compost once they’ve reached the end of their life cycle. It’s important to note that silk sponges form naturally, not by machines! As a result, their shapes and sizes are unique and irregular.

To care for your sponge, rinse it in fresh water, squeeze out the excess water, and leave it to air dry. From time to time, you can deep clean it by soaking it in 1 cup of water with 1 tablespoon of baking soda for 1 hour. This will enhance the life of your sponge and keep it fresh.

We offer two sizes of sponges: 

Small: 4-5cm long when dry 

Regular: 5-8cm long when dry 
The sponges will expand when wet.
