Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you using animal fats in your skincare products?
After conducting extensive research and continuous learning, we have rediscovered ancient knowledge and natural methods that have been successfully practised worldwide for years. One of them is the use of animal fats such as tallow, emu oil, and ostrich oil. These ingredients are far superior to the modern synthetic ingredients that dominate our world. We believe that the key to our wholesome skincare brand lies in our use of the finest natural and effective ingredients, along with thoroughly tested formulas supported by expert knowledge and traditional insights, all empowered by sustainable practices.
What is tallow and why do you use it as a skincare ingredient?
Tallow is derived from the suet or kidney fat of animals like cows and sheep. After slow rendering, the tallow solidifies and has a texture resembling wax. All tallow has a faint animal smell. We chose not to further deodorise the suet, as it may affect its nutrient profile. Tallow is rich and easily absorbable. This makes it an excellent source of nourishment for the skin.
I have acne-prone skin. Will the tallow cream clog my pores?
Tallow's molecular composition is similar to the natural lipids found in our skin, enabling it to penetrate easily without leading to congestion. Furthermore, its moisturising capabilities can help regulate sebum production and reduce the risk of acne.
Where do you source your tallow?
Our beef tallow is naturally rendered from the highest quality suet (kidney fat) sourced from 100% grass-fed, pasture-raised beef from Canterbury, New Zealand.
What is so special about your emu oil?
Our emu oil is sourced from a reputable, pioneering Australian company. It was the first oil listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) after being assessed by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration under the Department of Health) for its quality and safety.
The emus are sourced from reputable, licensed emu farms. Their living conditions and quality are being monitored. The emus are non-GMO, free from growth hormones and antibiotics. Emu oil has synergistic properties throughout, including temperature-sensitive omega essential fatty acids. Every production stage is carefully controlled, from farming the emus to processing and rendering the fat into 100% pure emu oil, using a patented rendering system.
Why don't you use wax in your cream deodorants?
Wax is used in natural skincare as a barrier and moisture retainer. It can create a type of seal on your skin for an extended period. However, this feature disrupts the detoxification process. If you add any wax to the deodorant, you seal the skin of your armpit, and the toxins that are usually extracted from your body and lymph nodes without the ability to be detoxified. So, as we wish for the sweat and toxins to leave the body and not remain, we will not add wax to our deodorants.

Why do you make a special deodorant just for kids?
Kids start puberty at different ages, with many girls beginning between 9 and 13 and many boys between 10 and 15. Yet it doesn't really matter how old they are, but how safe the deodorant they use is. Research has shown that kids don't sweat as much as adults; therefore, they need a gentler natural deodorant that won't irritate their sensitive young skin while eliminating the smell, yet will still allow them to sweat in order to cool their bodies.
Why are your products alcohol-free?
Alcohol is widely used in skincare products, primarily to create light textures in creams and lotions and help ingredients like retinol and vitamin C penetrate the skin more effectively. Unfortunately, alcohol does that by breaking down the skin's barrier and destroying the substances that keep your skin healthy over the long term.
Alcohol also harms your skin's protective surface, dries out your skin over time, and causes irritation and discomfort if you have sensitive skin.
